American War Cemetery Luxembourg
The American War Cemetery and Memorial Luxembourg is the sole American War Cemetery in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The cemetery is located near the capitol Luxembourg. 5,076 U.S. war dead found their final resting place there. Third Army general George Patton is among the soldiers buried in the cemetery. Furthermore, the names of 371 missing soldiers have inscribed at the Walls of the Missing. Of the soldiers buried or memorialized here, many were killed in the Battle of Bulge and during the allied push towards the Rhine river.
All graves in the Luxembourg Cemetery have been adopted by the organization US Veterans Friends Luxembourg. Those looking for more information and photos of the cemetery are also encouraged to visit the cemetery's page on the website of the American Battle Monuments Commission.
