Pfc John Connelly Jr. graduated from Omaha North High School.

He joined the National Guard in Omaha, Nebraska on 23 December 1940. He was sent overseas in May 1944.

Pfc Connelly was killed when he moved out of his guard post at night to investigate strange footsteps.
