Pvt Benedict V. Kunen enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 20 July 1944.He attended high school for 2 years and worked in the manufacture of miscellaneous products before he enlisted. He trained at Camp McClellan, Ala. before sailing overseas in December 1944. He left a wife and 16 months old son.
