More information

Cpl Dean G. Bisher graduated from Morning Sun High School with the class of 1933 and was a farmer before he enlisted in September 1942. He was sent overseas in June 1944.

Cpl Bisher was moving forward with other members of his section to make necessary observations on an enemy held town, that was under attack of U.S. forces. Approaching the forward position from which the observations were to be made, he was struck by a fragment of enemy mortar shell and killed instantly.

He is also remembered at the Fulton Cemetery in Cairo, Louisa County, Iowa.
