Pfc Glen Pamame was a driver before he enlisted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on 3 December 1942.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest.
He is remembered at the Chippawa Indian Cemetery in Oscoda, Iosco, Michigan.
He was a member of the Ojibwa Chippewa Tribe. His father, William, was of the Ojibwa Tribe and his mother, Susan Cloud, was a member of the Ottawa Tribe.
Glen was honored by his Native American family and community with a similar cross as there is at Epinal American Cemetery. This memorial is at an all Native American Cemetery near Mikado, Michigan. It is located in an area of the cemetery for memorials for Military Veterans. The American Indian symbol of a “Thunderbird” is in the background. The Thunderbird is the symbol for a “Spirit” that tends to the Earth’s health and wellbeing.
