Pfc Roland S. Comp attended high school for one year and was employed at the Travel Insurance Company before he enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 15 March 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his buttock and hip.

He is remembered at the Northwood Cemetery in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.
