T/5 George A. Jones attended high school for two years and was employed as a Hospital Attendant at the Rutland City Hospital before he enlisted in Rutland, Vermont on 14 March 1941.
He was killed in action in France on 16 November 1944, while evacuating wounded soldiers his vehicle hit a land mine.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
