2nd Lt George L. Salazar attended 2 years of college and was an accountant before he enlisted at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas on 24 July 1942.On 16 November 1944 Lt Salazar and his Company participated in the attack on the town of Metzervisse, France. They took their objective and defended the town against several enemy counterattacks. It was during this last action that Lt Salazar lost his life.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
