Pvt Carmine J. Donnarumma was a longshoreman before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 5 September 1944.

He was evacuated to the 35th Evacuation Hospital that was operating in the buildings of the Ecole Primaire de Bonnevoie, where he died of wounds to his humerus shaft, caused by artillery shell fragments.
