1st Lt Gilman E. Gambs graduated from the University of Michigan in 1943, where he was the hockey team manager.He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Ann Arbor, Michigan on 10 October 1942.
He is remembered at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee, Manistee County, Michigan.
