T/5 Robert D. King Jr. enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 29 July 1943.

He was lightly wounded in action on 15 July and 10 December 1944. He was promoted to Private First Class on 2 October and to Technician Fifth Class on 16 November 1944.
