S/Sgt Frank J. Tomasiewicz was a graduate of South High School and had been employed by Armour & Co before entering the service in 1940 as a Medical Corpsman.

He was killed in France while bringing up medical supplies to troops at a river bridgehead.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
