Pvt Donald L. Bliss graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1941. He worked on a farm.

He enlisted in Wilkes Barres, Pennsylvania on 29 November 1943 and was sent overseas in December 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his stomach and his head.
