Pfc Gordon A. Stripling was employed by the Boyar And Schultz Corporation before he enlisted on 19 December 1942.He was awarded with the Silver Star Medal posthumously for his actions on 17 September 1944.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the back.
Pfc Stripling is remembered at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois with a memorial marker.
