Pfc Ralph D. Long enlisted in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on 4 March 1943. He arrived in North Africa on 28 July 1943 and also participated in the Italian Campaign where he was wounded in action twice.He died of wounds in the 27th General Hospital in the vicinity of Xertigny, France.
