1st Lt John T. Quin attended college for two years and was a clerk before he enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 22 April 1941.As the tank of Lt John Quinn went by an underpass, it was hit by a rocket of a Panzerschreck. The projectile struck the tank in the rear of the turret and pierced it, killing the lieutenant and one other man in the turret.
