John E. McCormick worked as a miller.He enlisted at Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 11 April 1942.
All crew members survived the crash and John McCormick hid in a local farm and later joined the Dutch Resistance. On 29 April 1945 his hideout was discoverd by German soldiers and he was shot while trying to escape.
