Kenneth R. Cox attended Technical High School and was employed by the Superior Grain Corporation.

He enlisted on 2 January 1943.

He was reported wouned in action in August 1944. After recovering, he rejoined his unit and was killed a week later. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.

His mother, at the age of 52, boarded the Queen Mary in New York and sailed to Cherbourg, France in 1952 for a month long stay. Perhaps to visit her son's resting place.
