Pfc James V. Green enlisted at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas on 15 August 1944.

Pfc Green, together with S/Sgt William Q. Howell, was killed when they drove their jeep on an anti-tank mine, which the Germans had laid a day before.
