S/Sgt George Wilbur Van Sickle graduated from New Brunswick High School. He was employed at the Industrial Tape Company.

He enlisted on 31 July 1942 in Newark, New Jersey and was sent overseas in October 1943.

The aircraft was downed by enemy aircraft.

Two crew members were taken prisoner, eight men were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Schnathorst, Germany.
