Roy Grant graduated from Durant High School and from Southeastern State College in January 1942.

He joined the Regular Army on 15 March 1940. and was an instructor before he was sent overseas in 1943.

The aircraft was downed by enemy aircraft.

Two crew members were taken prisoner, aight men were killed. They were initialy buried at the cemetery of Schnathorst, Germany.

His brother, 2nd Lt Floyd F. Grant, is also buried at Henri-Chapelle.
