The mission took place on 26 July 1943.

The airplane was hit by flak on the return route. The crew bailed out over the Wadden Sea off the coast of the island Norderney. They were were picked up by the Germans. Only the Radio Operator, T/Sgt Earl T. Switzer drowned.

T/Sgt Fuller was wounded in the neck and the face and was taken to a hospital in Emden where he died a month later.
