Pfc Thomas Seman attended high school for four years and was employed by Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA).

He enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 17 December 1943.

Pfc Seman was awarded the Silver Star Medal posthumously for his actions on 30 October 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
