Pfc Hiram L. Lucy attended high school for 1 year and worked on a farm before he enlisted in Petersburg, Virginia on 28 October 1943.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Champigneul, France.
He is also remembered at the Edgerton Methodist Church Cemetery in Edgerton, Brunswick County, Virginia.
