Pfc Daniel J. Ryan was a chauffeur.He enlisted in New York City, New York on 17 August 1943.
From April 1944 to July 1944, he was hospitalized in Italy for wounds to the thoracic wall caused during a swimming accident and for a pilonidal cyst.
Pfc Ryan was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his actions on 16 December 1944.
He died of wounds, probably in a German field hospital. The exact circumstances and location are not known.
