Pfc Ray A. Allen attended high school for two years and was a driver employed by the William Kerns Trucking Co.In July 1943, he was wounded in Sicily by small arms fire.
He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions on 8 January 1945.
On 26 March 1945, the 30th Infantry Regiment crossed the River Rhine in the vicinity of Worms, Germany. During that crossing the boat with Capt – Chaplain Loren L. Stanton and several medics on board capsized.
