Sgt James A. Harris attended Franklin High School for four years, he was a farmer and later worked for the Greyhound Bus Company before he enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 30 June 1944. He was sent overseas on 20 December 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his head.
He is also remembered at the Pilo Knob Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky.
