Pfc Philip R. Bjornstad enlisted on 29 March 1941 and was sent overseas in August 1944.

He was reported slightly wounded in action on 13 November 1944. After recovering from a wound in the left arm,he just recently returned to his unit when he was killed.

His parents immigrated from Norway. His name also appears as Philip R. Bjonistad.
