Pfc James S. Stephenson enlisted at Camp Wolters, Texas on 17 March 1942.He was killed at a roadblock in Beek together with Pvt Ralph C. Pulliam, Pvt James Murray, and Pvt William B. Harris.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, the Netherlands.
