2nd Lt Sherry R. Wallace attended high school for four years and was a recreation park attendant.

He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 4 April 1942 and was stationed in St. Augustine, Florida.

For his actions on 28 October1944, in the vicinity of St. Dié, France, he was awarded the Silver Star Medal posthumously.
