Sgt Delbert G. Wells attended high school for four years and was self employed before he enlisted in November 1943.

From October 1944 to December he was hospitalized in France for wounds at the thorax and face, caused by artillery shell fragments.

From January 1945 to February he was hospitalized in France for cellulitis.

Sgt Wells was killed by artillery shell fragments in the head.
