Cpl Glenn K. Byrom enlisted on 12 January 1943 in Fresno, California.

He was initially buried as Unknown X-7979 at Margraten Cemetery. After being identified through comparison of tooth charts and laundry markings on his clothing, Cpl Byrom was reburied in a temporary grave on 22 January 1948. After being disinterred a second time and after the cemetery was given a permanent status, he was given his final resting place on 5 March 1949.
