9 February 1945 - Pfc Robert R. Rauterkus has been awarded the combat infantryman's badge according to word recently received here. His wife, Mrs. Iris B. Rauterkus, resides at 336 Hyde avenue. Prior to entering the service Pfc. Rauterkus was employed as a manager of a local retail food store.12 February 1945 - Pfc. Robert R. Rauterkus was killed in action in Belgium on Jan. 21, according to word received here Monday. He was the son of Police Capt. and Mrs. Joe Rauterkus, 336 Hyde avenue. His wife, Iris B. Rauterkus, made her home with his parents.
In the service since June, 1943, he had been overseas about eight months. His brother, Paul, is overseas, stationed in New Guinea.
