S/Sgt Jesse D. Harper was employed at the United Carbon Company before he enlisted.He was reported missing in action, after the boat in which he was crossing the Blies river near Frauenberg, Germany, sank. The river was about 50 yards wide and at flood stage at the time of the incident.
He is remembered at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Anson, Jones County, Texas.
