Pfc Joseph Shimoskie Sr. was employed by the Keystone Portland Cement Co. in Bath before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 27 March 1944.He joined his unit from the 83rd Replacement Battalion on 21 January 1945 and was promoted to Private First Class on 8 February 1945.
Both his parents were born in Czechoslovakia.
