Pfc Ray G. Sweetwood attended high school for one year and was employed at the Titan Metal Manufacturing Company before he enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 17 July 1943. He was sent overseas in May 1944.He was killed by small arms fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
