Sgt Francis P. Ford attended high school for one year before he enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 31 January 1944. He was sent overseas in August 1944.He was killed by small arms fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
