Pfc Glenn I. Winter was employed at the Rochester Transit Company as a bus driver before he enlisted in January 1943. He was sent overseas three months before he was fatally wounded.

He was wounded in action on 13 November 1944 and died of those wounds a day later.

Pfc Glenn I. Winter was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
