Sgt Albert M. Ellis was a graduate of Forkland High School and had attended Eastern State Teachers College in Richmond.He was a merchant operating the firm of Calhoun and Ellis at Forkland before he enlisted in Louisville, Kentucky on 28 July 1943. He was sent overseas in August 1944.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
