T/5 Frederick W. Hazekamp was a driver at the Weston Biscuit Company before he enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 22 May 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his thigh.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
