Pfc Edward K. Berry attended high school for two years and was a sales clerk before he enlisted in Richmond, Virginia, on 10 May 1943.The boat which Pfc Berry was riding struck an obstacle in the river which capsized the boat. Due to the swift waters he was drowned. This occurred in the vicinity of Habkirchen, Germany on the French border.
He is remembered at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bealeton, Fauquier County, Virginia.
