Pvt Arthur F. Kettel attended high school for four years and worked on a farm before he enlisted at Fort Lewis, Washington on 21 March 1944.

He was killed by small arms fire to his loin.

He was first buries at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
