Pfc John J. Konopka was employed by a trucking Company in Jersey City, New Jersey before he enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 21 March 1944. He was sent overseas in August 1944.He was killed by small arms fire to the head.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
