T/5 Frank Apesteguia was employed at the Consolidated Lumber Company before he enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 19 May 1941.

He was riding on the rear of a truck when a machine gun fell, accidentally discharging and fatally wounding him.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
