Pvt Lyle W. Peterson was employed at the Idaho Maryland Mining Corporation before he enlisted at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 22 June 1944.He was taken prisoner and died in Stalag IV-B.
He is remembered at the Union Cemetery in North Dakota.
His brother Glenn H. Peterson is remembered on the Walls of the Missing at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.
