Cpl Henry J. Dziepak attended Central High School for a short time and worked at the city's shoe mills. He was also a semi-pro golfer.He enlisted in Manchester, New Hampshire on 10 June 1943.
His parents were Polish immigrants who had not yet learned English at the time of his death. Because of this, their daughter had to translate the War Department telegram, informing them of Henry's death.
