Pvt Edward M. Comerford was a clerk general office before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 30 September 1943.

He was killed in action four days after he was discharged from a hospital where he had sent three months recovering from wounds.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
