S/Sgt Russell J. Campbell attended high school for four years and was a welder and flame cutter before he enlisted in Portland, Maine on 8 October 1942.He was killed by a land mine.
He is remembered at the Riverside Cemetery in Haynesville, Aroostook County, Maine.
