Pvt Austin W. Davis attended Cape Elizabeth schools and was employed with the New England Shipbuilding Corporation before he enlisted in Portland, Maine on 11 October 1943.He was killed by small arms fire to his neck and chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
