Pvt Byron J. Lemley attended high school for one year and was a painter before he enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 17 September 1942.He was reported wounded in action from artillery shell fragments to his right lung, spine, and trunk on 23 October 1944 and died on 28 October 1944.
His brother, Victor C. Lemley is buried at Manila American Cemetery, Philippines.
